Sarathi Server Outage Disrupts RTO Services in Gujarat for Five Days
June 20, 2026
Ahmedabad: RTO services related to learner and permanent vehicle licenses were disrupted in Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, due to the Sarathi server being down for over five days. However, applicants have received partial relief as some services resumed on Friday. Meanwhile, approximately 60,000 people have been affected as the driving test track has remained closed for the last five days. Applicants who have not received the ‘appointment rescheduling’ message may have to bear the additional cost of renewing their licenses after expiry.
After partial relief in the Sarathi server issue, it has been claimed that driving test appointments have been rescheduled in 39 RTO offices across the state, including Ahmedabad. However, many applicants have not yet received messages regarding the rescheduling. When such applicants approach the RTO office, they are told that the process will be completed soon.
Meanwhile, applicants whose learner’s licenses have expired are now facing additional expenses for renewing them. There are allegations that there is no help desk in RTO offices to address applicants’ problems. As a result, applicants are wandering from office to office with the help of agents. For the last five days, applicants have remained in a state of confusion.
Applicants angry over rescheduled appointments
Applicants who had booked driving test appointments for both two-wheelers and cars on the same day and at the same time have now been allotted new dates due to the Sarathi server issue. However, there is considerable resentment among applicants as they have been assigned different days and different time slots for the two-wheeler and car driving tests.
The applicants say they will now have to appear at the RTO office on two different dates and at different times to take both tests, forcing them to take time off work twice. This has led to considerable anger among the applicants. DeshGujarat
