Ahmedabad Hottest City in Gujarat, Temperature Reaches 40.7°C

Ahmedabad: Amid the delay in the arrival of the monsoon in the state, summer heat continues to persist in many cities. According to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) weather report released on Monday morning, Ahmedabad remained the hottest city in Gujarat on Sunday, with the maximum temperature recorded at 40.7 degrees Celsius, which is 2.8 degrees above normal.
Apart from Ahmedabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.3 degrees Celsius in Surendranagar, 40.2 degrees in Gandhinagar and Rajkot, and 39.5 degrees in Deesa. Vadodara recorded 38.6 degrees, Kandla 38.4 degrees, Bhuj 37.4 degrees, and Bhavnagar 37 degrees. On the other hand, temperatures in coastal areas remained comparatively lower. The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.9 degrees in Surat, 33.4 degrees in Porbandar, 33.6 degrees in Dwarka, and 34.4 degrees in Okha.
As for the minimum temperature, Vadodara recorded 30 degrees Celsius, followed by Veraval at 29.8 degrees, Ahmedabad at 29.4 degrees, and Porbandar and Naliya at 29.2 degrees each. Humidity levels remained high across most parts of the state, making the weather feel more uncomfortable.
Light rain showers were only witnessed in Surat and some other parts of South Gujarat, while most other cities in the state did not receive any rainfall. DeshGujnarat
