Vadodara Railway Yard Remodelling Work to Affect Over 100 Trains; Here Is the List

Vadodara: Rail passengers travelling via Vadodara over the coming days are advised to verify their train schedules in advance, as a major yard remodelling and signalling upgrade will affect the operation of more than 100 train services.

While only a handful of trains have been cancelled, a large number of services will either be diverted, shifted to Chhayapuri, Vishwamitri or Bajwa stations, or start and terminate from alternate locations. During the period, over 140 trains will also originate from or terminate at stations such as Vishwamitri, Chhayapuri and Bajwa instead of Vadodara.

The disruption is linked to the crucial non-interlocking (NI) works scheduled from June 29 to July 1 as part of the Vadodara station redevelopment project. The work will enable the commissioning of a new electronic interlocking system and integration of the remodelled yard, aimed at improving operational efficiency at one of Gujarat’s busiest railway hubs.

As part of the block, five pairs of trains, including the Vadodara–Dahanu Road Superfast Express and the Valsad–Dahod Intercity Express, will remain cancelled.

The changes will also impact several long-distance services. Six trains bound for Ektanagar from cities such as Varanasi, Chennai and Rewa will be diverted via the Dabhoi–Kayavarohan–Miyagam Karjan route between June 23 and June 28, bypassing Vadodara station entirely.

Anubhav Saxena, Public Relations Officer of the Vadodara Railway Division, said extensive operational arrangements have been put in place to reduce inconvenience to passengers. He added that the latest changes are in addition to railway operational adjustments that have been in effect since May 16 to facilitate the ongoing station redevelopment works. DeshGujarat
