Gujarat Continues to Swelter Ahead of Monsoon; Maximum Temperature Touches 41°C

Ahmedabad: Heat conditions persisted in parts of Gujarat as the onset of the monsoon remained delayed. According to the India Meteorological Department’s weather report issued on Tuesday morning, Gandhinagar was the hottest city in the state on June 22, recording a maximum temperature of 41.0 degrees Celsius.
Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius, which was 2.6 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 29.2 degrees Celsius. Gandhinagar’s maximum temperature was 2.9 degrees above normal at 41.0 degrees Celsius. Deesa in North Gujarat also recorded a high of 39.7 degrees Celsius.
In the Saurashtra region, Rajkot recorded a maximum temperature of 40.3 degrees Celsius, followed by 38.5 degrees in Amreli and Kandla, 35.7 degrees in Bhavnagar, and 35.4 degrees in Porbandar. In Kutch, Bhuj recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius, while Naliya recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius.
South Gujarat witnessed relatively cooler conditions due to rainfall activity. Surat recorded a maximum temperature of 32.4 degrees Celsius, while Daman recorded 34.4 degrees Celsius. Surat received 10 mm of rainfall, while Daman recorded 19 mm. Bhavnagar received the highest rainfall in the state at 32 mm.
In coastal areas, temperatures remained relatively moderate, with Dwarka recording 33.6 degrees Celsius, Diu 34.0 degrees Celsius, Okha 34.9 degrees Celsius, and Veraval 34.4 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, maximum temperatures across most interior parts of Gujarat were 1 to 3.5 degrees Celsius above normal, resulting in hot and humid weather conditions. DeshGujarat
