Mehsana: Gandhinagar Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed Ashish Kumar Bhikhabhai Parmar (27), a licensed surveyor of the District Inspector of Land Records (DILR) office, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹70,000. The accused is working as a licensed surveyor in the DILR office of Mehsana district.
According to the ACB, the complainant had applied to the DILR office for the measurement of Survey No. 210 located in Suraj village (Ta. Bechraji, Dist. Mehsana). The accused allegedly demanded a total bribe of ₹1.90 lakh from the complainant for completing the work and submitting the measurement sheets.
The accused asked the complainant to pay ₹70,000 as the first instalment. As the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he filed a complaint at the Gandhinagar ACB Police Station.
Based on the complaint, the ACB set a trap on June 25, 2026, at Jai Ambe Nasta House near Gate No. 4 of the Mehsana Sessions Court. During the trap, the accused accepted a bribe of ₹70,000 after having a conversation with the complainant regarding the bribe demand, following which the ACB team caught him red-handed. The entire bribe amount has also been seized.
The ACB said action has been taken against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act for allegedly committing criminal misconduct by misusing his official position. DeshGujarat
