Four-Car Pile-Up on SG Highway in Gandhinagar; Creta Bursts Into Flames, Four Hurt

Gandhinagar: Four cars were damaged and four people were injured in a serious road accident that took place late at night on the S.G. Highway near the Sargasan intersection in Gandhinagar. After the accident, the Hyundai Creta car caught fire, causing chaos on the highway.

According to preliminary information, the driver of the Hyundai Creta car, which was coming at full speed, lost control of the steering and hit the vehicles in front from behind. According to eyewitnesses, the collision was so strong that the Mahindra electric (EV) car veered forward and collided with the Innova car. A total of four cars collided with each other in the accident, causing heavy damage to all the vehicles.

After the accident, the Creta car suddenly caught fire. On being informed about the incident, a team from the Gandhinagar Fire Brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. However, by then the Creta car was completely burnt to ashes. Following the incident, long queues of vehicles formed on the highway, and traffic was disrupted.

Hearing the sound of the accident, local people and other motorists immediately reached the spot. They pulled out four injured people from the burning and accident-hit cars. After that, all of them were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment through a 108 ambulance. The condition of one of the injured is said to be serious.

On receiving information about the incident, a team of Gandhinagar Sector-7 police reached the spot. The police removed the accident-hit vehicles with the help of a crane and resumed traffic on the highway.

Sector-7 police have registered a case and started an investigation into the entire incident. All aspects, including the exact cause of the accident, the speed of the vehicles, and whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol, are being investigated. DeshGujarat
