Surat: The city police have arrested a Mumbai-based man for allegedly cheating a city businessman of Rs 1.41 crore by promising to organise live shows featuring Arijit Singh, Nora Fatehi, and Kapil Sharma.
Addressing the media about the arrest, DCP (Zone-5) Lakhdhir Singh Zala said, “A complaint was registered at Utran Police Station in Surat by a person named Abhishek. In his complaint, he alleged that Aninda Seal, a Mumbai resident associated with an event management company, lured him into paying Rs 1.41 crore on the promise of organizing a live concert by Arijit Singh. The money was deposited into different bank accounts at different points in time.”
“After receiving the complaint, the police conducted an investigation into the matter. Prima facie, it was found that the accused had promised the complainant a live concert by Arijit Singh. Later, he also offered to arrange live shows featuring Nora Fatehi and Kapil Sharma. However, all these claims appear to have been part of a fraudulent scheme. Preliminary findings suggest that the accused had no professional association with any of the celebrities. Based on the investigation, the accused was apprehended from Andheri, Mumbai. His interrogation and further investigation in the case are currently underway,” he added. DeshGujarat
