Monsoon Delay Keeps Gujarat Sweltering; Ahmedabad Hottest at 40.7°C

Ahmedabad: The scorching summer heat has continued across Gujarat due to the delay in the monsoon. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad remained the hottest city in the state on June 26, recording a maximum temperature of 40.7°C, which was 3.9°C above normal.
After Ahmedabad, Surendranagar recorded a maximum temperature of 40.3°C, followed by Gandhinagar at 40.2°C, Amreli at 39.9°C, Rajkot at 39.8°C, Deesa at 39.6°C, and Vadodara at 39.0°C. Temperatures in all these cities were 3 to 5 degrees above normal.
In contrast, coastal areas remained relatively cooler. The maximum temperature was 33.8°C in Dwarka, 34.2°C in Diu, 34.4°C in Daman, 34.5°C in Veraval, 35.3°C in Porbandar, 35.4°C in Surat, and 35.6°C in Okha.
With the monsoon remaining sluggish, many parts of the state continue to experience intense heat even as June draws to a close. DeshGujarat
