40 Electric Buses Rolled Out in Gandhinagar Under PM eBus Seva

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday launched electric bus services in the state capital under the PM eBus Seva scheme. According to an official release, Gandhinagar has been allotted 100 electric buses, with the first phase seeing the rollout of 40 fully air-conditioned buses on regular routes.

The project is being implemented by Gandhinagar Greenline Transport Service Limited (GGTSL), a special purpose vehicle set up by the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. The newly launched buses are equipped with electronic ticketing machines (ETMs), allowing passengers to make cashless payments using QR codes, UPI, and other digital payment methods.

To house the fleet, a bus depot and charging infrastructure have been developed at Sargasan at a cost of Rs 17 crore.

These electric buses will operate on 18 routes, connecting key locations across the state capital and nearby areas, including Sargasan, Pathik Ashram, the Secretariat, Gandhinagar Railway Station, Mahatma Mandir, GIFT City, Chiloda, Dahegam, Kadi, Kalol, Chandkheda, Dhamasan, Naradipur, Sonipur, Kotha, Adraj Moti, Tintoda, IIT Gandhinagar, Dabhoda, and Mansa.
