Gujarat Gets Just 3.87% of Seasonal Rainfall Till July 1; District and Taluka Wise Data

Gandhinagar: As of 6 AM today, the state of Gujarat, which is witnessing the delay in the coverage of the monsoon, has received only 35.21 mm of rainfall, which constitutes 3.87% of its average annual rainfall for the season.

According to data from the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), among the regions, the South Gujarat region has witnessed the highest rain, i.e. 74.18 mm, followed by East Central at 47.93. Meanwhile, North Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch have received only 19.89 mm, 14.39 mm, and 1.20 mm average rain so far.

Out of a total of 268 talukas, 47 have not even seen a wet spell, while 157 have only got less than 50 mm of total rainfall during the season. There are only 16 talukas that have seen over 4.9 inches of rain, but none has seen over 10 inches of total rain.
