24-Hour Rainfall Data from Gujarat: Surat District Tops Chart with Very Heavy Rains

Surat: The advancement of the monsoon further into the state has brought widespread rainfall to South Gujarat, Saurashtra, and some areas of Central Gujarat during the last 24 hours. Rainfall was recorded in 107 talukas across the state. The highest rainfall of 203 mm (about 8 inches) was recorded in Palsana taluka of Surat district, which is considered very heavy rainfall as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the rainfall data for the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today, 197 mm was recorded in Bardoli of Surat district, 196 mm in Umargam of Valsad district, 191 mm in Mahuva of Surat district, and 189 mm in Vapi of Valsad district. In addition, 178 mm was recorded in Maliya Hatina of Junagadh district, 164 mm in Ambika of Surat district, 133 mm in Sutrapada of Gir Somnath, and 132 mm in Keshod of Junagadh.
Umarpada in Surat district received 120 mm of rainfall, Pardi in Valsad 113 mm, Bhesan in Junagadh 107 mm, Valod in Tapi 102 mm, and Vyara 92 mm. Patan-Veraval in Gir Somnath received 85 mm of rainfall, Lodhika in Rajkot 85 mm, Sagbara in Narmada 83 mm, and Valsad 81 mm.
Gandevi in Navsari district received 77 mm of rainfall, Navsari 74 mm, Khergam 73 mm, Gondal in Rajkot 72 mm, Vansda in Navsari 67 mm, and Jalalpore 66 mm. Dhandhuka in Ahmedabad district received 39 mm of rainfall.
On the other hand, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in many talukas. Olpad in Surat received 31 mm, Kunkawav-Vadia in Amreli 30 mm, Vanthali in Junagadh 29 mm, Naswadi in Chhota Udepur 28 mm, Netrang in Bharuch 27 mm, Jetpur in Rajkot 27 mm, and Una in Gir Somnath 26 mm of rainfall.
Rajkot city received 8 mm, Mehsana 6 mm, Vadodara city 4 mm, Dholka in Ahmedabad district 1 mm, and Upleta in Rajkot 2 mm of rainfall. Some talukas in the state also received light rainfall of 1 to 5 mm. DeshGujarat
