Widespread Rain Brings Sharp Drop in Maximum Temperature Across Gujarat

Ahmedabad: After the widespread rains across the state over the last two days, the maximum temperature has seen a significant drop. Especially in many cities of Saurashtra and South Gujarat, there has been relief from the daytime heat. However, some areas of North Gujarat and Kutch are still recording maximum temperatures around 38 degrees Celsius.
According to the report of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8:30 am on July 3, the highest maximum temperature was recorded in Deesa at 38.6 degrees Celsius, while Bhuj recorded 38.4, Kandla 38.3, and Ahmedabad 37.8 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, due to heavy rains, the maximum temperature in many cities of Saurashtra and South Gujarat remained significantly below normal. The maximum temperature in Bhavnagar remained only 29.7 degrees Celsius, which is 5.3 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at 30.5 degrees (3.9 degrees lower) in Amreli, 28.6 degrees (3 degrees lower) in Veraval, 29 degrees (2.8 degrees lower) in Surat, and 32.4 degrees (1.9 degrees lower) in Vadodara.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to the rainy weather in many areas of the state, the maximum temperature is likely to remain around or below normal in the coming days, due to which people are likely to continue to get relief from the heat. DeshGujarat
