Another Café Running Illegal Hookah Bar Busted in Ahmedabad; Two Held

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Police, in its drive against illegal hookah bars, raided Elysium Café in Chharodi, where Sola Police found 15 youths smoking hookah at seven tables in the café’s open area.
During questioning, café manager Vivek Sharma allegedly told police that the hookah bar was being operated by Harshad Prajapati. Police said customers were charged ₹800 per person for a 90-minute hookah session. Officers seized hookahs, flavoured tobacco and other related equipment from the premises. Sharma and Prajapati were arrested.
According to the police, the accused had rented the premises and had been running the illegal hookah bar under the guise of a café for the past six months, with operations continuing late into the night. Investigators are also examining whether others were involved and if any additional legal violations were committed.
The latest action comes soon after Sarkhej Police raided Roja’s Café in Ambli, where an illegal hookah bar was allegedly operating under the cover of a café. The café’s owner, Praful Bharwad, was arrested in that case. DeshGujarat
