July 10, 2026
Patan: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has arrested an outsourced computer operator working at the Chanasma Mamlatdar office in Patan district red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹800 in a decoy operation.
The ACB had received information that bribes ranging from ₹100 to ₹2,000 were being demanded from applicants for the issuance of necessary government documents related to the widow assistance scheme at the Chanasma Mamlatdar office. Acting on this information, the ACB organised a trap on July 10.
During the operation, the accused, Prakashkumar Bharatsinh Parmar (34), demanded a bribe of ₹800 from the decoy in exchange for issuing a widow assistance certificate. As soon as he accepted the money, the ACB team apprehended him red-handed in the open area of the Mamlatdar office premises. The entire bribe amount of ₹800 was recovered from the scene. DeshGujarat
