₹26.8 Crore Facelift of Bhaktinagar Railway Station in Rajkot Nears Completion

Rajkot: Bhaktinagar Railway Station in Rajkot has undergone a major redevelopment under the Centre’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, with facelift works worth ₹26.80 crore nearing completion. The upgraded station is expected to provide improved passenger amenities and enhance the overall travel experience for around 6,900 passengers who use the station every day.

According to Western Railway, the redevelopment includes a host of modern facilities such as four lifts, each with a capacity of 20 passengers, a new foot overbridge, an air-conditioned waiting lounge, modern toilets, Divyangjan-friendly infrastructure, organised parking facilities, and a landscaped green campus.

The project is part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, under which railway stations across the country are being modernised with improved passenger amenities, better accessibility, and upgraded infrastructure.

Rajkot Division Divisional Railway Manager Giriraj Kumar Meena said the redevelopment of Bhaktinagar Railway Station will provide passengers with a safer, more convenient, and high-quality travel experience. He added that the upgraded station is also expected to contribute to the overall development of Rajkot city and the Saurashtra region by strengthening transport infrastructure. DeshGujarat
