Vadodara Hit-and-Run: CCTV Shows Speeding Car Ramming Bike, Three MSU Students Injured

Vadodara: Three students of Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) were injured, one of them critically, in a hit-and-run accident on VIP Road in the early hours of July 14. CCTV footage of the incident shows a speeding car hitting their motorcycle from behind, throwing the bike a considerable distance before the driver fled the scene.
According to police, the three students—Sujal Manojkumar Chauhan (21), Mihir Shaileshbhai Patel (21) and Riturajsinh—had gone out for dinner at a hotel near Golden Chowkdi. After meeting another friend on Harni Road, they were returning to the university hostel when the accident occurred.
The incident took place around 4:45 am near SBI Bank on the stretch between Amitnagar Bridge and L&T Circle. Police said an unidentified car, allegedly being driven at high speed, rammed the motorcycle from behind, throwing all three riders onto the road.

The car driver fled without stopping. Passersby alerted the 108 emergency service, and the injured students were shifted to SSG Hospital.
Riturajsinh sustained serious head injuries and remains unconscious in the ICU. Mihir Patel suffered severe injuries to his head, ribs and shoulder, while Sujal Chauhan sustained multiple injuries to his face and body.
Sujal Chauhan lodged a complaint with the police from the hospital. Police have registered a case and are investigating the hit-and-run, using CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its driver.
