Sanand: A young man died after his motorcycle collided with stray cattle sitting in the middle of the road near Pippan village on the Sanand-Bavla highway in Ahmedabad district. The entire accident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
According to information received, the accident occurred at around 8:30 pm on July 16. The victim was riding his motorcycle along the Sanand-Bavla road when it crashed into a group of more than 10 stray cattle sitting on the road. The animals were reportedly not visible in the darkness, leaving the rider with little time to react.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the rider was thrown into the air before landing on the road. He sustained grievous head and body injuries and died on the spot.
The incident has triggered anger among local residents, who allege that the menace of stray cattle on the Sanand-Bavla road has persisted for a long time and has led to several serious accidents.
Locals have demanded that the authorities immediately remove the stray cattle from the road and shift them to a gaushala (cowshed). They have also urged the administration to take strict legal action against cattle owners who allow their animals to roam freely on public roads, saying such measures are necessary to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
