Girnar Pilgrims Must Register Online from July 18 in Safety Initiative

Junagadh: In the wake of the recent tragic incident on Mount Girnar, the Junagadh district administration has introduced a pilot online entry and exit registration system for pilgrims visiting the Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary area from July 18. The move aims to improve pilgrim safety, enable real-time monitoring, and ensure a faster response during emergencies.

Under the new system, devotees travelling to Girnar via the new staircase, old staircase, or ropeway must complete online registration by scanning the QR code available at the site or through the registration portal https://register.bhavnathtemple.com.

Pilgrims will also be required to record their exit while returning, allowing authorities to track the number of visitors inside the sanctuary and respond more effectively during any disaster or emergency.

The district administration has advised every pilgrim to carry a valid identity proof, such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, or driving licence, while undertaking the yatra. To ensure no one is inconvenienced, offline registration facilities have also been arranged at the site for pilgrims who do not have smartphones.

The registration platform has been developed jointly by the district administration, the Forest Department, and other concerned agencies. Officials have appealed to all devotees to cooperate with the new arrangement, expressing confidence that it will make the Girnar Yatra safer, better managed, and more efficient. DeshGujarat
