Gujarat Govt Renames Chudel Village in Surat District as Chandanpur

Surat: The Gujarat government has officially renamed Chudel village in Mandvi taluka of Surat district as Chandanpur following approval from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the state government has notified the name change through an order dated July 7, 2026, and directed all concerned government departments to make the necessary corrections in official records.
As per the notification, the village will now be officially referred to as “Chandanpur” in English (Roman script), “चंदनपुर” in Devanagari script, and “ચંદનપુર” in Gujarati script.
The General Administration Department said the revised name will henceforth be used in all official records and government communications. DeshGujarat
