Surat city receives over 3 inches rainfall; Waterlogging in Vesu

Surat: The city of Surat’s posh area Vesu was waterlogged on Sunday morning following rainfall. As per the official figure, the city had nearly 2 inches of rain in 24 hours ending 6 am on Sunday, and further 1.18 inch rainfall during 6 am to 10 am. However even within the city, the area-wise rainfall could have variation.
In 24 hours ending at 6 am on Sunday, the highest rainfall was experienced in Valod in Tapi district which was 2.44 inches, followed by Umbergaon 2.40, Vyara 2.24, Ukai 2.09, Surat city 1.93, Nanapondha 1.22 – all in South Gujarat.
During 6 am to 10 am period on Sunday, Pardi in Valsad had 2.64 inches of rain, followed by Navsari 1.34, Jalalpore 1.30, Surat city 1.18, Chikhli 0.98 inches. DeshGujarat
