Ahmedabad City Records Upto 3.7 Inches Rain in 24 Hours; Ward-wise Rainfall Data Here

Ahmedabad: Clouds have battled with gusto in Ahmedabad city during the last 24 hours. According to the data till 6 am on Friday, the city recorded an average of 2.47 inches (62.81 mm) of rainfall, while a total of 17.31 inches (439.68 mm) of rain fell across all zones.

Heavy rainfall was recorded in every zone of the city. The Central Zone recorded the highest average rainfall at 3.11 inches (78.88 mm), followed by the North Zone with 2.73 inches (69.30 mm), the East Zone with 2.51 inches (63.81 mm), the North-West Zone with 2.48 inches (63.00 mm), the West Zone with 2.31 inches (58.64 mm), the South Zone with 2.13 inches (54.13 mm), and the South-West Zone with 2.04 inches (51.93 mm).

Area-wise, the highest rainfall was recorded in Asarwa with 3.74 inches (95 mm). It was followed by Kalupur with 3.37 inches (85.5 mm), Memco with 3.25 inches (82.5 mm), Viratnagar with 3.15 inches (80 mm), Oganaj with 3.05 inches (77.5 mm), Motera with 2.85 inches (72.5 mm), Chakudia with 2.80 inches (71 mm), and Naroda with 2.76 inches (70 mm).

The heavy rain caused waterlogging in many low-lying areas of the city and also affected traffic. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rain in various parts of the state in the coming days. DeshGujarat
