VUDA Takes Possession of Disputed Parvati Farm Land for Vadodara 75-Meter Ring Road

Vadodara: Clearing the final major bottleneck in the eastern sector of the city’s ambitious 75-meter Ring Road project, officials from the Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA), backed by a police escort, took physical possession of disputed land at Parvati Farm near Jesangpura earlier today.

Construction crews immediately moved onto the site on the Vadodara-Ajwa stretch to initiate road-building work on the 150-meter section that had been stalled for months.

The land handover marks a decisive turn after the farm’s occupants sought intervention from the Gujarat High Court to halt the acquisition process. However, with the High Court refusing to grant a stay on the matter, VUDA authorities moved swiftly to secure the location and jumpstart the long-delayed roadwork.

With this clearance, officials confirm that all remaining work on the Ring Road’s eastern corridor is on track for completion by this December.

Resolving the Eastern Corridor Bottlenecks

The first phase of the Ring Road project in the eastern region had previously been tied up due to land possession issues across three distinct sites:

• Forest Department Land: Possession of a 1.73-hectare parcel was secured in phases.

• Hanumanpura Stretch: A crucial 500-meter land parcel was recently acquired, allowing roadwork to proceed.

• Parvati Farm (Jesangpura): The final remaining hurdle on the Vadodara–Ajwa stretch, resolved following yesterday’s action.

With all three eastern locations now cleared, VUDA engineers expect to wrap up the eastern alignment by late December, significantly improving transit flow along the city’s periphery.

Focus Shifts to Western Sector

Attention now moves to the project’s final remaining bottleneck in the western area: a stretch along Sevasi Road leading from behind Decathlon toward Navrachana University in Bhayli.

It is learnt that VUDA plans to coordinate similar joint enforcement operations alongside local police in the coming days to clear the Sevasi–Bhayli stretch.
