AMTS Bus Catches Fire Near Bapunagar D-Mart in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A fire broke out in an AMTS bus near D-Mart at Anupam Colony in the Bapunagar area on Monday morning after a suspected short circuit in the engine compartment. No one was injured in the incident as the driver safely evacuated all passengers before the flames spread.

According to officials, the AMTS Route No. 300 bus was passing near Bapunagar D-Mart at around 9 am when smoke began billowing from the front section of the vehicle following a suspected short circuit. Sensing danger, the driver immediately stopped the bus and asked around 40–45 passengers to get off safely.

The driver then alerted the Fire and Emergency Services, following which two fire tenders rushed to the spot. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control by spraying water and prevented it from spreading further.

The fire was confined to the front engine section of the bus. As the incident occurred on a busy road, traffic police also reached the spot to regulate traffic and prevent congestion in the area. The exact cause of the fire is expected to be confirmed after a detailed inspection, though preliminary information suggests it was triggered by a short circuit in the engine compartment.
