Dahej PCPIR in Gujarat Attracts Over ₹1.37 Lakh Crore Investment So Far: Centre

Gandhinagar: Gujarat’s Dahej Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR) has attracted investments worth over ₹1.37 lakh crore so far, making it one of the country’s leading PCPIRs.

According to information shared by the Central Government in the Rajya Sabha, investments in the Dahej PCPIR have nearly doubled from ₹69,621 crore as of March 31, 2014, to ₹1,37,163 crore at present.

Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Anupriya Patel informed the Rajya Sabha that the Dahej PCPIR is home to 2,079 chemical industry units, which have generated employment for 2,45,140 people. The PCPIR spans an area of 453 square kilometres.

The Central Government said the three PCPIRs in the country, Dahej (Gujarat), Visakhapatnam-Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) and Paradip (Odisha)—have collectively attracted investments worth ₹3,49,192 crore so far. These investments have resulted in the establishment of 2,246 industrial units and generated employment for 3,71,263 people.

The government further clarified that there is no digital monitoring dashboard for PCPIRs. However, the progress of infrastructure development is reviewed periodically through meetings with the governments of Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
