July 29, 2026
Panchmahal: Devotees planning to visit the famous Shaktipeeth of Mahakali Temple at Pavagadh in Panchmahal will have to climb the hill on foot for a few days, as the ropeway service will remain suspended for five days due to scheduled maintenance.
According to an announcement by Usha Breco Limited, which operates the Pavagadh ropeway, the service will remain closed from August 3 to August 7 as part of routine maintenance and technical safety inspections. The ropeway is scheduled to resume operations on August 8 after the maintenance work is completed.
During the closure, devotees visiting the temple will not be able to use the ropeway and will have to reach the shrine by climbing the steps.
The ropeway operator has appealed to devotees to plan their visit accordingly and take the temporary suspension into account while travelling to Pavagadh for darshan.
The periodic maintenance is being carried out to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the ropeway system. DeshGujarat
