ACB Gujarat Nabs Revenue Talati in Bribery Case

Bhuj: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat caught a Revenue Talati working at the Bhuj Mamlatdar office red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹35,000.
According to the ACB, agricultural land in Bhuj inherited by the complainant from his elders was sold through a registered document on March 27, 2026. After the sale, the complainant needed to obtain a farmer account holder certificate to retain his status as a farmer account holder.
The accused, Chandubhai Gelabhai Haran (34), allegedly initially demanded a bribe of ₹40,000 for issuing the certificate. Following negotiations, the amount was reduced to ₹35,000, and the complainant was asked to pay the money on July 30.
As the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he approached the ACB and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap. During the operation, the accused allegedly demanded and accepted ₹35,000 from the complainant before being caught red-handed. The ACB also recovered the entire bribe amount. DeshGujarat
