Silver Coins Found in Rubble in Palanpur; Crowds Gather to Dig Through the Debris

Palanpur: A large crowd gathered on Friday after news spread that silver coins had been found in rubble dumped in an open area near Mansarovar in Palanpur, Banaskantha district. People were seen digging through the debris in the hope of finding coins, creating a buzz and an atmosphere of curiosity at the site.

According to locals, the rubble from the demolition of an old house, temple or shrine was dumped at the spot on July 30. Soon after, reports that some people had found silver coins in the debris spread quickly, drawing people to the location from Thursday night itself.

A local resident said the incident was not a miracle. According to him, the coins appear to have come from the rubble of an old temple or shrine, and around 10 to 12 people have reportedly found silver coins so far.

Ward No. 2 Corporator Chandrakantbhai also confirmed that some people had found silver coins in the debris dumped in the open area. He said the rubble could have come from an old temple or house.
