Adani Gas Imposes Another Price Hike; CNG Rate in Ahmedabad Now at Rs. 94.02 per kg

Ahmedabad: CNG users in Ahmedabad have been hit with another price hike as Adani Total Gas increased the price of CNG by Rs 4 per kg, effective August 1. Following the revision, CNG will now cost Rs 94.02 per kg, up from Rs 90.02 per kg.

This is the second increase in less than two weeks. On July 19, the company had raised the CNG price by Rs 2 per kg, taking it from Rs 88.02 to Rs 90.02 per kg. With the latest hike, Adani CNG prices have gone up by Rs 6 per kg in just 12 days.

The latest increase is expected to put additional financial pressure on lakhs of CNG vehicle owners, including private motorists, auto-rickshaw drivers and taxi operators, many of whom rely on CNG as a more economical alternative to petrol and diesel.

Auto-rickshaw drivers expressed concern over the repeated hikes, saying rising fuel costs are making it increasingly difficult to sustain their livelihoods. “It has become difficult to run a rickshaw and manage household expenses. With fuel prices rising so frequently, it is getting harder to make ends meet,” said an auto-rickshaw driver.

CNG was once considered a significantly cheaper alternative to conventional fuels, but frequent price revisions in recent months have narrowed the gap with petrol and diesel, increasing the operating costs for thousands of commuters and commercial vehicle operators. DeshGujarat
