Gujarat Govt Extends Disturbed Areas Act in Parts of Surat for 5 Years

Surat: The Gujarat government has extended the implementation of the Gujarat Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Property and Provision for Protection of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Act in Surat for another five years.

A notification issued on Thursday states that the Act, whose previous notification was set to expire on July 31, 2026, will now remain in force until July 31, 2031. No additional areas have been brought under the Act as part of the latest extension.

The Act will continue to apply in Udhna, Limbayat, Athwa, Khatodara, Umarwada, Navagam, Majura, Anjana-Gorat, Parvat, Katargam, Tunki, Rander, Adajan, and Jahangirabad.
