After 35 Years, VUDA Announces Two New TP Schemes for Padra

Vadodara: The Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has announced the draft Town Planning (TP) Schemes Nos. 3 and 4 for Padra, marking the first new TP schemes for the town in over 35 years.

Draft TP Scheme No. 3 covers around 128 hectares of residential land, while TP Scheme No. 4 spans about 118 hectares of industrial land. Under the two schemes, VUDA will acquire 31.08 hectares of land in TP-3 and 22.05 hectares in TP-4 for the construction of roads ranging from 18 metres to 75 metres in width. An additional 19.03 hectares in TP-3 and 25.10 hectares in TP-4 have been earmarked for public amenities and other civic infrastructure.

The last town planning schemes for Padra, TP Scheme Nos. 1 and 2, were prepared in 1990. Since then, no new TP scheme had been introduced for the rapidly developing town.

Officials said the new schemes will pave the way for planned urban development in the proposed areas, including the provision of roads, water supply, drainage, street lighting, gardens, and other public amenities. Padra, which serves as an important link between Vadodara and Jambusar and has both residential and industrial growth, is expected to benefit significantly from the planned infrastructure.

The draft schemes were unveiled at a meeting held at VUDA Bhavan on Friday, where maps of both proposals were displayed. The authority has invited landowners and other stakeholders to inspect the draft plans at the VUDA office or on its official website.

Objections and suggestions, along with supporting documents, can be submitted to VUDA within one month from the date of publication of the draft schemes. DeshGujarat
