Bandra – Ahmedabad Lok Shakti Express Extended Up to Vadnagar; Mahesana Halt Added

Ahmedabad: The Ministry of Railways has approved the extension of Train No. 22927/22928 Bandra Terminus–Ahmedabad–Bandra Terminus Lok Shakti Superfast Express up to Vadnagar, providing a direct rail service extension for passengers in North Gujarat.

The extension will come into effect with Train No. 22927 Bandra Terminus–Ahmedabad Lok Shakti Superfast Express from its journey commencing at Bandra Terminus on August 13, 2026. Consequently, Train No. 22928 Ahmedabad–Bandra Terminus Lok Shakti Superfast Express will originate from Vadnagar instead of Ahmedabad from its journey commencing on August 14, 2026.

A commercial stoppage at Mahesana has also been provided on the extended route.

Under the revised schedule, Train No. 22927 will continue from Ahmedabad towards Mahesana and Vadnagar, reaching Vadnagar at 6:40 am. In the return direction, Train No. 22928 will depart Vadnagar at 6:20 pm, halt at Mahesana and proceed towards Bandra Terminus.

The extension will increase the route distance of the train from around 480 km to 582 km. The journey time for the extended service will be around 11 hours, compared with the existing journey time of about 8 hours 40 minutes between Bandra Terminus and Ahmedabad.

The extension is expected to benefit passengers travelling between Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Mahesana and Vadnagar, while the additional commercial halt at Mahesana will provide another boarding and alighting point along the extended route.  DeshGujarat
