GSRTC Geetamandir Bus Port Terminal-2 in Ahmedabad to Start Operations From Aug 13

Ahmedabad: A new Terminal-2 has been developed at the GSRTC Geetamandir Bus Port in the city to streamline bus services to Saurashtra-Kutch and North Gujarat. The new terminal will be inaugurated on Wednesday by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and will become operational from August 13.

The new terminal will have 39 platforms and dedicated passenger facilities, including waiting areas, separate general and ladies’ waiting halls, a passenger lounge, parking space, a canteen, e-library and ticketing facilities, washrooms, and a parcel room. A dedicated dormitory and rest-room facility has also been planned for drivers and conductors.

The terminal has been designed to ease congestion at the busy Geetamandir Bus Port and provide passengers with a more convenient travel experience. As many as 1,091 buses will depart from Terminal-2 every day, serving various destinations across Saurashtra-Kutch and North Gujarat.

With Terminal-2 becoming operational, bus services will be divided between the two terminals. Terminal-1 will primarily handle buses heading towards South Gujarat, while Terminal-2 will cater to Saurashtra-Kutch and North Gujarat routes.

According to the route allocation, Terminal-2 will handle buses bound for cities and towns including Rajkot, Morbi, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Junagadh, Porbandar, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Mehsana, Palanpur, Patan, Himmatnagar, Gandhinagar, Mundra and other destinations.

The new arrangement is expected to reduce crowding and improve the movement of buses and passengers at Geetamandir, one of Ahmedabad’s busiest bus terminals. DeshGujarat
