Gem & Jewellery Exports Touch $9.17 Billion in April-July, Up 2.4% YoY

Surat: India’s gem and jewellery exports remained almost flat in July but grew 2.44% year-on-year to $9.17 billion during April-July 2026, driven by strong demand for value-added jewellery.

According to GJEPC data, July exports rose marginally to $2.35 billion from $2.34 billion a year earlier. During April-July, studded gold jewellery exports increased 21.09% to $2.24 billion, while silver jewellery surged 72.19% to $508.18 million and platinum jewellery grew 17.20% to $77.82 million.

Polished lab-grown diamond exports also rose 7.47% to $408.50 million during the four-month period. However, traditional cut and polished diamond exports remained under pressure, falling 18.23% to $876.39 million in July.

GJEPC Chairman Kirit Bhansali said value-added segments were helping the industry withstand global headwinds. He added that the recently held IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026 in Mumbai attracted over 61,000 visitors, including more than 5,000 international buyers from 80 countries, with business generated at the event expected to support exports in the coming months.
