Devotee – Security Staff Clash at Chamunda Mata Temple in Chotila; Video Goes Viral

Chotila: A scuffle between security guards, devotees and temple staff at the Chamunda Mataji Temple in Chotila escalated into a physical fight, with a video of the incident going viral on social media. The Chotila police have begun investigating the incident based on the video.

The clash reportedly broke out following an argument between a security guard and a devotee on the temple premises. The situation soon escalated, with people from both sides allegedly attacking each other. Some temple workers were also reportedly involved in the altercation.

The incident took place while a large number of devotees were present at the temple, creating panic and confusion among them. Some people from both sides are reported to have sustained injuries in the clash.

The fight reportedly continued at the temple trust office, where the two groups were again involved in a confrontation.

Temple priest Mansukhgiri said the matter escalated after a mentally ill person allegedly slapped a security guard. The circumstances leading up to the confrontation, however, are being examined by the police.

Chotila PI J.M. Solanki said police are investigating the viral video and that legal action will be taken based on the findings.

Thousands of devotees visit Chotila Dham every day, making security arrangements at the temple premises a key concern. Locals have called for an impartial investigation to establish what led to the clash and identify those responsible.
