Gujarat Govt Inks MoU with Automation Anywhere to Boost AI Skills

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Department of Science and Technology has signed an MoU with global technology company Automation Anywhere to strengthen the state’s AI ecosystem and promote training in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia and Automation Anywhere Co-Founder and COO Ankur Kothari were present at the signing ceremony.

Modhwadia said the MoU, signed under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, aims to create greater awareness about AI, build skills and strengthen collaboration between the government, industry and academic institutions in Gujarat.

Under the partnership, AI and machine learning awareness and capacity-building programmes will be organised for students, youth, government employees, MSMEs, startups and educational institutions. Training programmes, workshops, seminars, webinars, bootcamps and certification courses will also be conducted.

Automation Anywhere will provide support of around Rs 100 crore over 10 years for training, capacity building and AI-related initiatives. The company will also provide trainers, subject matter experts and mentors, along with training courses, learning content and certification frameworks.

Trainees will also get access to Community Edition licences of Automation Anywhere’s no-code and low-code Automation Success Platform for hands-on learning.

The state Department of Science and Technology will coordinate with government departments, educational institutions, industry associations, startups and other stakeholders and facilitate venues and infrastructure for training programmes wherever possible.

The partnership is expected to help develop a skilled workforce in AI and emerging technologies while strengthening government-industry-academia collaboration. It is also aimed at supporting Gujarat’s efforts to emerge as a leading state in AI, innovation, emerging technologies and digital transformation.
