Indian Coast Guard Rescues 9 Navsari Fishermen Stranded at Sea

Daman: Nine fishermen from Navsari who were stranded at sea after their fishing boat developed an engine failure were safely rescued by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
According to reports, the fishing boat ‘Jayamala’ had departed from Navsari and was heading towards Okha. After travelling around 10 kilometres into the sea from the Navsari coast, the boat’s engine suddenly stopped, leaving the nine fishermen stranded.
The fishermen contacted the Coast Guard for assistance. Acting promptly on the information, the Daman Coast Guard launched a rescue operation using a Chetak helicopter and safely evacuated all nine fishermen from the sea.
Following the rescue, six fishermen were brought ashore at Danti village in Valsad, while the remaining three were taken to the Daman Coast Guard station. All nine fishermen underwent medical examinations and were reported to be safe. DeshGujarat
