Sabarmati Riverfront Multilevel Parking to Get Rooftop Fine-Dining Restaurant, Cafe

Ahmedabad: The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) is looking to boost non-fare revenue by developing a premium rooftop fine-dining restaurant and cafe on the Sabarmati Riverfront Multilevel Parking facility on the western bank.

The SRFDCL has invited expressions of interest (EOI) from interested bidders to develop, operate and manage a premium fine-dining restaurant/cafe at the multilevel car parking rooftop, Sabarmati Riverfront, and has set September 1 as the deadline for submitting proposals.

The Rs 60 crore, seven-storey multilevel parking facility was opened on a pilot basis in September 2023. It can accommodate around 1,000 two-wheelers and 700 four-wheelers and has a skywalk connecting the facility directly to the Atal Bridge and Event Ground.

The move comes after SRFDCL saw limited financial returns from the 16 shops leased out below the parking structure over the past three years. The corporation now expects the rooftop restaurant and cafe to generate better revenue.

SRFDCL is also hoping the proposed rooftop venture succeeds where a similar initiative at Kankaria Multilevel Parking failed to generate the expected response. DeshGujarat
