Rapid Cargo Service Linking NCR, Gujarat Launched on Western Dedicated Freight Corridor
August 19, 2026
Navsari: Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) on Tuesday launched the Rapid Cargo Service on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), connecting major logistics hubs in the NCR and northern India with industrial centres in Gujarat.
Railway Board Member (Operations and Business Development) Dr Manoj Singh flagged off the service in the presence of senior DFCCIL and Railway Ministry officials.
Unlike the existing NMGHS parcel service, which mainly served destinations up to Ahmedabad, the new Joint Parcel Product–Rapid Cargo Service (JPP-RCS) will extend parcel movement beyond Ahmedabad, including connectivity towards Surat and Mumbai. The service will operate daily, catering to e-commerce, FMCG, retail cargo, courier and logistics aggregators, transporters and bulk parcel customers.
The service will provide faster and more reliable rail-based parcel transportation between New Dadri in Uttar Pradesh and New Ancheli in Gujarat. DeshGujarat
