August 21, 2026
Ahmedabad: Two new penguins have been added to the Aquatic Gallery at Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad, taking the total number of penguins at the facility to 10.
The two male African penguin chicks were named Shaurya and Veer and are being exhibited alongside the other penguins at the Aquatic Gallery.
The addition of the two chicks has further enhanced the attraction of the Aquatic Gallery, which has become a popular destination for children, students and families visiting Science City.
The African penguins have been among the major attractions at the gallery since it opened in 2021. The penguin exhibit initially had five birds. Over time, three penguins were born at the facility, taking the number to eight.
In September 2025, two more male penguin chicks were born at the Aquatic Gallery. Their addition has now taken the total penguin population to 10.
The arrival and naming of Shaurya and Veer have added another attraction for visitors, particularly children, while further strengthening the Aquatic Gallery’s appeal as a centre combining science, education and entertainment. DeshGujarat
