New Kendriya Vidyalaya Opens in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has opened 72 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across various states and Union territories for the 2026-27 academic session, including a new school in Ahmedabad’s Vastral area.
With the addition of the Vastral KV, Gujarat now has 49 Kendriya Vidyalayas, and the total number of Kendriya Vidyalayas across India has increased to 1,360.
The new Vastral school takes the number of KVs in Ahmedabad city to six. The existing schools are located at MR Campus Shahibaug, Cantonment, Vastrapur Sector-30, Sabarmati Railway Colony and ONGC Chandkheda. Another Kendriya Vidyalaya is located in Viramgam in Ahmedabad district.
The new KV has Balvatika I to III and Classes I to V, with a single section in each class. It will subsequently expand based on feasibility and approval. DeshGujarat
