X user booked for fake news claiming Harsh Sanghavi will replace Bhupendra Patel as Gujarat CM

Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Crime Branch today registered a case against an X (formerly Twitter) user for allegedly posting and circulating fake news about Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
According to the Crime Branch, the accused, identified through the X account Pawan Tyagi (@PAWANTYAGI_07), allegedly posted a message claiming that Harsh Sanghavi would be made the Chief Minister of Gujarat and that Bhupendra Patel would be appointed Governor. Police said the post was allegedly made in a manner intended to harm the reputation of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister and undermine the dignity of the Chief Minister’s constitutional office.
The Crime Branch has registered an FIR under Sections 336(4), 353(1) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 66(D) of the Information Technology Act. Further investigation is underway.
The Crime Branch said legal action will be taken against individuals who post false or misleading content on social media that could create fear or panic among the public. It also appealed to citizens to take note of such activities and avoid spreading unverified information. DeshGujarat
