Govt Schools in Surat to Remain Open on Four Sundays to Compensate for Rain Holidays

Surat: Students of government schools in Surat will have to attend classes on four Sundays in September and October, as the City Primary Education Committee (Nagar Prathmik Shikshan Samiti) has decided to keep schools open to compensate for academic days lost due to holidays declared during heavy rains.

The decision comes after schools were given four additional holidays in July and August due to heavy rainfall. Holidays were declared on July 24 and 25, and July 31 and August 1.

Schools to Remain Open on Four Sundays

As per the decision of the Primary Education Committee, government schools will conduct academic activities on September 6, September 13, September 27 and October 4, despite these dates falling on Sundays.

The move has been taken to make up for the academic days lost due to the rain-related holidays and ensure that the students’ syllabus is completed on time.

Students and parents have been advised to take note of the four dates and make the necessary arrangements to attend school. School authorities are also expected to inform students and parents in advance to avoid any confusion regarding the holidays and ensure the regular conduct of academic activities. DeshGujarat
