NID, Sabarmati Ashram Trust Sign MoU for Design-Led Development of Gandhi Ashram

Ahmedabad: The Mahatma Gandhi Sabarmati Ashram Memorial Trust (MGSAMT) and the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative partnership aimed at supporting the ongoing development of the Gandhi Ashram through design, research, education, and innovation, according to a press release.
The collaboration seeks to contribute to the larger vision of preserving and promoting Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy for future generations while enhancing the visitor experience and cultural significance of the Sabarmati Ashram precinct.
Under the MoU, NID will provide design support across several key areas, including review of final museum designs and content; design advisory services for the overall look and feel of the Ashram; conceptualisation and development of a curated range of souvenir products inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s life, values, and association with Sabarmati Ashram and Gujarat; and design and development of a distinctive visual identity and logo for the Mahatma Gandhi Sabarmati Ashram Memorial Trust, etc.
The partnership is envisioned as a platform for mutual learning, knowledge exchange, and socially responsive, design-led innovation, the release stated. DeshGujarat
