SMC Announces Free BRTS & City Bus Travel for Women, Children on Raksha Bandhan

Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has announced free travel for women and children up to 15 years of age on all BRTS and city buses in Surat on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on August 28, 2026.
The civic body said the initiative is aimed at facilitating travel for women and their children during the festival. The free travel facility will be available on all BRTS and city buses operated under SMC’s public transport service.
The SMC provides BRTS and city bus services to residents of Surat and surrounding areas at concessional fares as part of its public transport network.
Women in the city have been urged to make maximum use of the free public transport facility on Raksha Bandhan. DeshGujarat
