Railway Clerk Seeks Bribe for Tatkal Ticket Booking; Caught by Gujarat ACB

Banaskantha: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat on Wednesday caught a Chief Booking Clerk at Deesa Railway Station while allegedly accepting a ₹500 bribe from a passenger for making an immediate (Tatkal) reservation to Delhi.

The accused was identified as Suresh Kumar Ramuji Solanki, Chief Booking Clerk (CBC), Class-III, at Deesa Railway Station under the West Zone of Ahmedabad Division.

According to the ACB, the complainant had approached the booking office at Deesa Railway Station to get a Tatkal ticket reservation to Delhi. Solanki allegedly demanded ₹500 from the complainant in exchange for making the reservation.

The complainant subsequently contacted the ACB’s toll-free helpline 1064 and lodged a complaint with the Banaskantha ACB unit at Palanpur.

Based on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap at the booking office of Deesa Railway Station on Wednesday. During the operation, Solanki allegedly demanded and accepted ₹500 from the complainant and was caught on the spot.
