Surat RTO Fancy Number Auction: Fortuner Owner Bids ₹4.89 Lakh for GJ 05 JZ 5555

Surat: A vehicle owner from Adajan has paid ₹4.89 lakh for the fancy vehicle registration number GJ 05 JZ 5555 for his Toyota Fortuner, which is reportedly worth around ₹60 lakh, in the Surat RTO’s e-auction of the new JZ series.

The bid for 5555 emerged as the highest in the auction, surpassing usually sought-after numbers such as 0001 and 0009. The Adajan-based owner secured the number with a bid of ₹4,89,000.

The auction saw strong demand for several other fancy numbers as well. The popular GJ 05 JZ 0001 fetched ₹2.16 lakh, while GJ 05 JZ 0011 was sold for ₹1.60 lakh and GJ 05 JZ 0111 for ₹1.11 lakh.

Fancy registration numbers continue to attract buyers in Surat, with vehicle owners often spending lakhs of rupees on numbers they consider lucky or significant based on birthdays, anniversaries, numerology or their previous vehicle’s registration number.

The auction of the new JZ series has also generated significant revenue for the Surat RTO. Bidding for some numbers, including 9999 and 0999, did not see much participation this time. The RTO’s revenue could rise further if the final bids increase during the auction process. DeshGujarat
