Vadodara Civic Body Seals 17 Units

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has stepped up its crackdown on traders allegedly littering public places, sealing 17 units, including tea shops, paan parlours, scrap shops, furniture stores and ice cream outlets, across different parts of the city on Friday.

The sealing action was carried out by teams from the VMC’s Sanitary Department as part of a drive to maintain cleanliness and prevent commercial establishments from dumping waste in public areas.

In Ward No. 4, the sanitary team inspected areas around D-Mart on Khodiyarnagar Road and sealed five units, including Savariyan Sheth Scrap, Khodiyar Traders, Sonam Clinic and two other shops, for allegedly spreading waste in public places.

Meanwhile, the Sanitary Branch of Ward P in the East Zone sealed seven units near Vrindavan Char Rasta. The action was taken against establishments allegedly littering public areas by throwing paan packets and used tea cups. The sealed units included Saurashtra Paan and Cold Drinks, Rajwadi Cha, Surtilala Alupuri, Saurashtra Paan, Baroda Sandwich, Rajwadi Cha (Unit-2) and Sagar Paan Parlour.

In the North Zone, the civic body also took action against establishments in Karelibaug, Anandnagar and the APMC Market area. Two scrap godowns on the road leading to Hathikhana were sealed after their operators were allegedly found dumping scrap material on the public road.

In Ward No. 9, a furniture shop on Narayan Garden Road in Gotri was sealed. Similarly, a Saurashtra Paan Parlour and soda shop located at Rajpath Complex in Ward No. 10, and a scrap shop near the Akota Police Line in Ward No. 12, were also sealed as part of the drive.

The VMC said the action was aimed at discouraging commercial establishments from causing litter and maintaining cleanliness in public spaces across the city. DeshGujarat
