Water Level in Major Dams Across Gujarat on Sept 1; Sardar Sarovar 88% Full

Gandhinagar: Presented below is the status of water storage in some of the important reservoirs across Gujarat as of 12 noon today, September 1, 2026, as the state sees a stagnant monsoon and rainfall deficit so far this season.

As per the latest data available at 12 noon, the Sardar Sarovar Dam, the largest dam and lifeline of the state, has a present gross storage of 8,329.60 million cubic metres (MCM), equivalent to 88.05% of its design capacity. The dam is witnessing an inflow of 80,151 cusecs, while 17,748 cusecs is being discharged into the Narmada Canal and 633 cusecs into the downstream river.

Ukai, the state’s second-largest dam, has a present gross storage of 5,822.21 MCM, which is 78.53% of its full capacity. It is currently witnessing an inflow of 6,139 cusecs, with 5,339 cusecs being released into the river and 800 cusecs into the canal.

Kadana Dam has a present gross storage of 761.01 MCM and is 60.91% full. It is currently witnessing an inflow of around 1,560 cusecs.

Dharoi Dam has a present gross storage of 421.44 MCM, which is 51.83% of its full capacity, with no significant inflow being recorded at present.

Meanwhile, Panam Dam has a present gross storage of 363.47 MCM, which is 62.86% of its full capacity.

Shetrunji Dam in Bhavnagar, the largest reservoir in the Saurashtra region, is currently 100% full, with a present gross storage of 346.48 MCM.
