Mahindra, Hindalco and AMNS India Share Gujarat Investment Plans With CM Patel

Mumbai: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a series of one-to-one meetings with leading industrialists in Mumbai as part of preparations for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027, inviting industry leaders to participate in the upcoming summit and explore investment opportunities in the state.
During the meetings, industrialists shared their experiences of investing in Gujarat and discussed plans for future investments across sectors, including electric vehicles, copper recycling, renewable energy, battery storage and steel manufacturing.
Anand Mahindra Discusses EV, GIFT City Opportunities
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra recalled his first meeting with then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi regarding investment in the state.
“For the first time, I met with the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendrabhai Modi in this same room regarding investment in Gujarat, and I was impressed by his vision,” Mahindra said.
He said he was pleased to meet Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and have a cordial discussion on the group’s future investment plans in Gujarat.
The discussions with the Mahindra Group focused on exploring opportunities in the electric vehicle (EV) sector and GIFT City, along with potential avenues for investment, collaboration and development, a press release said.
Hindalco Plans Copper Recycling Plant Inauguration in December
Hindalco Industries Managing Director Satish Pai said Gujarat offers significant opportunities in industrial and manufacturing sectors, particularly in copper recycling, e-waste management and circular economy initiatives.
Pai said discussions were held with the Gujarat leadership on potential investments, sustainable industrial practices and ways to strengthen the state’s position as a leading destination for the copper industry.
The meeting also included discussions on the proposed inauguration of Hindalco’s copper recycling plant in December.
AMNS India Plans Rs 10,000 Crore Additional Investment at Hazira
AMNS India CEO Amit Harlalka said he had a fruitful meeting with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel regarding its ambitious investment plans in Gujarat.
Harlalka said the company is on track to complete an investment of Rs 80,000 crore by June and plans to invest an additional Rs 10,000 crore at Hazira, primarily in renewable energy and battery storage.
He also shared the company’s vision to develop a 25-million-tonne-per-year steel plant in Gujarat, which he described as the world’s largest steel plant in terms of capacity.
The meetings were held as Gujarat steps up preparations for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027, with the state government seeking greater participation and investment from leading industrial groups. DeshGujarat
