Gujarat Govt Approves Changes to 5 TP Schemes in Ahmedabad, Surat, Navsari
September 04, 2026
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has approved changes to five town planning (TP) schemes in Ahmedabad, Surat and Navsari, with several land parcels earmarked for urban forests, parking and social infrastructure.
In Ahmedabad, the changes cover Hansol near the airport and Singarva near Nikol and the Odhav industrial area. The revisions include road widening and realignment, new parking provisions and additional green spaces.
Under Preliminary TP Scheme No. 67 (Hansol-1), a 16,616-sq-metre plot has been reserved for an urban forest. Several roads will be widened or straightened, while a new 9-metre road has been proposed. Four existing 9-metre roads have been removed from the plan as they were considered unnecessary.
Seven other plots have been designated as non-transferable parking plots for social infrastructure. Property owners with existing structures will have to hand over the prescribed portion of land to the authority when their properties are redeveloped.
Under TP Scheme No. 118 (Singarva), two open-space plots measuring 2,148 sq m and 770 sq m have been converted into urban forest land. Three commercial plots have also been merged into a single 11,637-sq-metre commercial sale plot, while other parcels have been reserved for parking linked to social facilities.
The changes are aimed at balancing redevelopment and road infrastructure with the need for green spaces, parking and social amenities in Ahmedabad’s expanding urban areas. DeshGujarat
